Tip to Clean Alarm/ Remote Start

Before you attempt to install an alarm/ starter/ keyless entry, i recommend playing with car audio first (like learning how to change factory headunit to aftermarket, or something dealing with car electrical that is not as intense)

Tips to a clean ALARM/ REMOTE START install are-

1. Find location/ test to comfirm of ALL your wires before connecting anything or running any wire.

2. Have a location for the brain (mount it somewhere that is not easily seen, like under the radio)

3. Use the twist ties that came with alarm (holding the harnesses). route your wires from the brain to the car. use the twist ties to hold your wires. (it should be like the roots of a tree, like how it spreads out and stuff) Trust me, you will change your mind several times about where each wire should go, and since its just twisty ties, you can easily route it here to there.

4. After you are happy with which wire goes where and 100% sure that is where the wire goes , tape it all up(dont forget to give it some slack). (Some installers dont like to do this, but i like to keep my wires looking black and stock)Zip-tie your 'root of wires' to factory wires so it does not hang

5. Make your connections (IF this is your first install, i say USE T-TAPS or SCOTHLOCK!!! makes things go by easier and faster)

6. Test everything, like door triggers, shock sensor, and remote start.

Notes
Before you make ANY connection, make sure that is where that wire should go. Fatal problems can occur if you connect the wrong wire. Ex, accidently grounding tach, or getting confused between parking light and door trigger, or something like that- will cause damage to the brain!

Dont get discourage if your install takes more than 10hours, my first install EVER took me 2 DAYS!!!

I'll agree with a lot of it but not the t -taps. It isn't a good connection period. Always use solder on R/S and security. How good can a remote start/security work if there isn't a good connection. Also, one thing I've started doing is grabbing a lot of wires at the harness running to the rear for an even cleaner look. You can almost always catch parking lights, brake, lock/unlock, door trigger, dome suppervision, and trunk pop all running in that harness. It makes it look a lot cleaner. Also I've started to loom the wires under the dash. A lot of people don't but it's worth it.
