I am trying to install some new door speakers in a 2002 Honda Accord for a friend of mine. However I can't seem to figure out how to get the window crank handles off so I can remove the door panels. There seems to be no screws holding them on or are they just pressed on? I tried to tell him to buy a car with power windows but...... anyway any help would be greatly appreciated.  Joe

There is a " U " clip that hold the window crank in place. You have to use a 90 degree pick to get at it. It's hard to describe the action to take it out, but you'll be able to see it if you push the door panel in where the crank is and if you look down from the top you will be able to see "U" clip ( it's usually gold in color. )

Yeah, who would ever consider buying a car without power windows?

But anyway, yeah, you can mess around with a pick, butter knife, or screwdriver to get that clip out.  (Hold your hand or a rag over where you're working, or the clip will fly far, far away.)

Unless you have some experience, though, you're likely to scratch the door panel while doing this.  Most auto parts stores that also sell tools, will have the window crank clip tool, usually $5-10.

I do all my friends' installs for free, but I usually have them pay for any inexpensive specialty tools I buy (and I keep the tool).  I'm sure your friend will do the same for you.
