i was thinking of hooking up a second kill switch to my car .the first one is connected to the starter,but i was thinking of hokking up the second one to the wire for the distributor.you know the one most people might disconnect when parking for a while.i have a 1986 cutlass supreme i call snowwhite.if anyone has any better way to hook up the switch let me know and let me know if my way is possible.

Adding anythng but a starter kill to any vehicle can be risky. Most circuits that you could interupt besides the starter circuit could cause problems if they failed while driving. Imagine that your ignition kill circuit failed while you were driving down the highway at speed. You could easily lose control of the car and cause an accident. Murphy was an optimist. The reason starter kills are used is the worst that would happen is you couldn't start your car. You need to find a circuit like this. On some cars you can interupt the cirsuit that allows you to shift out of park when applying the brake. Another strike against an ignition kill is that it has been proven that over bumps the relay contacts for the ignition wire can open causing momentary voltage drops. Manufacturers have traced this problem to early failures of catayltic converters and ignition modules. If your starter kill circuit is hidden well, it should be more than enough to keep your car safe. If they want it that bad, they will just tow it away.

Thanks alot for the helpful info.I will everything you said into consideration.Besides I don't want to screw just for another kill switch.But at the same time I always hear people talking about 2 kill switches on their rides.So it's got to be possible some way.But anyway i will hold off on it for now.

If you really want to add a second kill switch to the car I'd consider wiring it into the fuel pump power circuit.. if you really wanted to get fancy, you could set it up with a time delay so that if someone was able to bypass the starter kill and get it started, the car would run for x number of seconds before shutting down and setting off all the horn strobes.. this draws more attention to the thief when the car shuts down and starts screaming in the middle of an intersection.
