I have a 2006 toyota corolla and i recently lost my key. I made a copy a few months back but it was just a regular copy, one without the "sensor" in it so itll only unlock the doors and make the engine turn, but not actually start because of this "anti theft" system. I know theres a way to disable the system so that the key i have can start my car but im not sure how to do it, any help? or if theres another way to go about starting the car, im open to anything.

yea you see i did that, and it was all good until the dealer tried to charge me an extra 40 dollars for haveing the sensor installed ont he key, and i mean im all for overprices at the dealerships but this is just outrageous when just to make a copy of a key is about 2 to 5 dollars

A steel key with no transponder chip is 2.99 cut. A factory key with transpnder chip, cut, and programmed should run you bout 60.00. unfortunatly, this is the price your gonna have to pay for loosing your keys....? -------------

You CAN'T disable the system. How many times do we have to tell you that? Go to the dealer and pay the $40.

Whats YOUR time worth....spend 2 to 3 hours trying to "disable" something you have been told CANNOT be disabled......you have paid for the key and programming!

guys, don't waste your breath... i've found some people are SO cheap they dont value their time at all... and will gladly spend 10-15 hours doing something for the satisfaction of knowing they saved $10..... ------------- Kevin Gerry

$40 is cheap to get a chipped key and programmed.
You cant "disable transponder".
About you learning instead of paying, there is absolutely nothing to learn. You cant disable it, you would be wasting your time attempting it.
Search yahoo to learn some info about transponder it you want to learn something
