OK guys,

I would like some input from all of you as to Compustar Vs. Audiovox. I am attempting to decide which product to use for my side jobs and i want to keep evrything consistent (for the past couple years ive done evrything from dei, crime stoppers, ast, audiovox and etc.) I Really enjoy the ease of installation on the compustar product, but the only thing i absolutely hate is the programming, its nowhere nearly as easy as the audiovox units. Also, it seems like its a lot easier to get a RA from Audiovox vs Compustar. What are you guys using, and give me some honest input on both. And PLEASE dont say "Dont use either, use DEI," or...."You're stupid either way" lol. I just want some good solid feedback. Oh, and failure rates on both please. thanks again.

~Brandon

I say Audiovox. It is cheaper, reliable, great techincal support, a big & well known company, and easier to get your hands on parts.

I like compustar too, but its kinda expensive for me. especially replacing this and that.

I've done Compustar for the past 3 years going on 4 now and I've had excellent reliability & very good technical support for the product. If your having trouble or do not like the programming aspect of the Compustar and your going to be carrying it as a main system, I highly suggest you use the hand held programmer & also your going to want the programmer if your going to be carrying the PRO series from Compustar seeing that there's a boat of programmable options on the new units.

Depending on what you consider  " expensive " the 1WSH-S-PRO is very reasonably priced from a supplier if you can get quantity pricing. "Dont use either, use DEI " posted_image

I have sold and installed both and I really prefer the compustar.  It is easier to install, I find it easier to sell because the remotes look better, I have had way better tech support from them.  I have also had fewer problems with compustar.

I use Avital for all of my side jobs. They offer pretty much everything you need. If i had to decide between Compustar or Audiovox I would choose Audiovox, the only reason is it is cheaper and very reliable.

i would say Compu has a slightly higher inherent quality level than Audiovox.....   but the bottom line is which product is still working flawlessly 4 or 5 years down the road.....

i've installed both products without any issues... (although we are a hard core DEI dealer) and while not chosing either of these brands for my own vehicle i wouldnt hesitate to install either for a customer........ but as i said, if i was forced to chose between one of these two brands for my own vehicle it would be Compustar.....

I am not going to be a dealer at the moment, i just have a fairly large clientel. As far as "hard to come by," for me compustar is easier to get through my distributor than audiovox. Thanks for all the input guys. It seems like its almost a 5050

When using a product that you intend to profit from Avox is the choice. With medium reliability, ease of installation and a very good price, you will make more from them. My company uses 95% Avox for these reasons and at close to 1000 alarms/remotes starts a month we have little to complain about...
