I am about to install a Avital max 1 t omy 1999 Suzuki Jimny (hard top).  I run a company and we install audio, handsfree etc but avoid alarms based on our work load.... Our work vehicle was broken into and i need to get this alarm on... Surley it cant be that hard?

I have checked the suzuki for wires and so on, and noticed the central locking operates only fro mdrivers door. But there is a circuit to both doors and back door which rests as an earth but when the drivers door is unlocked it gives a pulse of 12 volts.... This goes to all doors with electric motors as factory spec..... As the Avital supports lock/unlock. Would i need to wire in a relay per door. (3 in total) for the system to lock/unlock off the fob.....??? Does anyone know what voltage the Avital gives out for door locks???

I can't find any wiring info for this car. If what you are saying is there are no switches in the car anywhere to operate locks(the locks move from locking and unlocking the drivers door) the only solution is to add an actuator in the drivers door. The drivers door is only a mechanical switch for the others....

thanks for the reply Mike.

Ok, If i install an actuator to the drivers door, I simply wire the actuator to the lock/unlock wires from the alarm, Or will i need to wire in a pair of five pin relays to the actuator? I have found two wires on the cental locking loom, I get a short 12 volt reading off one when lock and off another when unlock....Are these the wires i join back into if i make up a relay loom as discribed for the postive switch locking?

All in all the alarm is on the vehicle ( had a little time on Sunday ). With just the locking to work out i must be getting close...

You will need to add a set of relays to run the new actuator. You won't need to connect to the cars locking system wires at all after you install the new actuator as it will be locking and unlocking the other doors for you....

Of course. That makes loads of sence..... Well this time tomorrow my doors should be locking/ unlocking off the alarm fob.... Thanks very much for the advice...

I have spent 11 years in the car audio field and also cover handsfree / bluetooth and parking sensors.... If theres anything i can help will i will do my best.....
