There is no way off the top of my head to predict if you did the wiring for doc#1603 correctly. However, if all else is wired correctly, as obvious as this seems check the tach programming or if doing it tachless check the "engine check" and the "engine check tach" parameters are programmed as well. If it's cranking for a second, then stops it could be the remote start is shutting itself down due to the problems I listed above. (not recognizing if the engine is running or not so it shuts down)
Also, its not a bad idea to put a meter to the main power and ground at the DEI harness, remote start with the remote, and see if theres too much voltage drop. If so, redo the power or ground as needed. This too, if not corrected will cause the same symptons.
Good luck

another thing...I don't believe (it should still crank, but may not run depending) hooking up the 2nd ignition wrong will cause your symptons so if everything I posted does not help I would check the bypass. Simple. unhook the resistor you added temporarily. put the key in the ignition but don't turn it. try to remote start it. If it starts ok either you have the wrong resistance or did something else wrong with the bypass. Just trying to think of all possible options.
again best of luck

i will be working on it again today. i am going to check the bypass and my resistor. and i will let now what i did wrong. i know it is something simple. thanks for all the input it as been helpfull.man dei needs to make a module lol.
crazziazz.
yeah I looked over the document and it seems pretty straight forward to me, but I use relays and all the other components involved everyday.
If you don't, it may look confusing. There is alot of potential mistakes that could be made.
If nothing I suggested works, post back to me and I will walk you through the relay setups.
also 4.2 ohms seems a bit low for a passlock. Perhaps someone else knows what the variences are. maybe all that is wrong is the resistor value, but I can't be sure at this time..
Have a good one.

i finally got it. it was a simple installer error. i had a bad connection on the diode. i also was having tach issues. but i fixed all that and it started right up. i apperciate all the help man . it was very helpfull. this was my first encounter on a colorado as far as an alarm goes. but now i know. i was thinking to hard and should have went back to the basics.thats the way it goes sometimes. but i am very impressed with your knowledge.i have been installing for 8 years 5 of them certified. i am also impressded with this site. im sure i will be around for a while. thanks again.
