i recently installed a remote starter/alarm in my 04 GMC Yukon. the module that needs to be installed for the door locks to operate has dome light supervision. but it needs +12 volts when the door is open. so i went by the wiring diagram/list that i had, and it says there is a ground form the door light circuit under the dash. i installed a relay on this wire. the problem i have is, when you close the door, the dome lights fades to off. when the lights begin to fade, the relay beggins to chatter, then to coil finally drops out.

is there a diode that can be installed to prevent this chatter?? if not, what other options do i have.

Thanks for the help.
Lee

sounds like as the voltage drops the relay is trying to open and close.

Diode might cure this. Im sure someone else has a better solution

An 04 Yukon has positive dome light supervision. Use the gray/black on the front of the BCM, black plug, pin E. This will give you 12volts when any door is open, get rid of the relay....

Then you don't have the right wire because it is 12 volts. All GM trucks went to a positive dome light in 2003....

Instead of the (+) domelight wire, try using one of the (-) rear door latches, "The LR door trigger is lt. blue/black, pin A3, and the RR is lt. GREEN/ black, pin A2, they are in the purple plug at the BCM."

Agreed. Connect your (-) dome supervision wire directly to one of these wires. No relay needed.
