I bought the famed Clifford RS 3.5 and having problems with the remote start and doorlocks.

1. When I press "*" on the remote for the remote start, it does try to crank the engine for approximately 3 seconds, but the engine wont start. I thought it was the tach sensor, but I learned the tach function into the alarm. Like it says in the install manual "within 5 seconds of starting the engine, hold in the valet switch until the LED lights continuously". Whats weird is that I have to rev the engine a little to get it to learn. I have also changed the jumper for the tach threshold to no avail. Does teh Ford f150 need a special bypass module? The tach sensing ability allows the remote start to test whether the engine is already running. Anybody else have this problamo?

2.Ill be posting again to show how I have my doorlocks hooked up. From common sense, this should work, I just think I melted my relays for some reason:P

I fingered it out. Seems I need a bypass kit. The PKF1 to be exact. Ebay, here I come!posted_image

About the door locks, yeah, I should read before I post. I just hooked the door lock and unlock wires to the pink / YELLOW and pink/green wires just inside the driver door behind the speaker and it works. Some posts are misleading and tell you that you need relays. I guess you only need relays if you dont  have a factory keyless entry.

Sometimes, you have to wait until 1:00 in the morning to get it right.posted_image
