I am trying to install a prostart ct-5000 into my 1997 toyota rav 4, everything seems to be working but it will not learn the tach, my tach wire is connected to black at the coil, and it reads fine with my meter, I have tried many times over and over it just wont program it, I read somewhere that it may be my IGN2 wire, I have never done a install on a vehicle with a second ignition, my prostart has a output for 5th relay which it says can be used for second ignition, and there is a jumper on the unit to set it for 2nd starter, 2nd ignition, 2nd acc, i set it to ignition, but am not sure if that has anything to do with the tach programming, please help thanks!

Make sure that you are grounding the remote starter into a clean and paint free area of the chassis and not a metal dash piece. The black wire at the coil is the correct tach wire. The Prostart units are very good and rarely fail. If more than one has the same problem, you are missing the real problem. There are two ignition wires in the Rav 4. A BLACK/ White and BLACK / YELLOW. Both must be hooked up. Use the built in second ignition wire (Green) to hook up to the 2nd ign. wire.
