I own a Pontiac Montana 2002 minivan.
I had a 400Watt power inverter hooked up to the front cigarette lighter sockets to power battery chargers and other AC devices.
Around 8 months ago the cigarette sockets stoped working. I assume some how the inverter fried the circuit. I tried plugging in the inverter into another car and it fried that car's circuit too.
The wierd thing is that the fuse did not blow.
I just went to get my omissions inspection and my OBDII computer would not communicate with the shop's computer.
Shop guy said once I got the 12V cigarette circuit fixed it would probably be good.
So anywone know what exactly I am looking for to replace? Is there a transformer somewhere in the car I am looking for?

He could be right... but who knows where thecig plugs get powered off of.. could be right from the fuse panel or it could be atthe bcm itself.. it also could have roached an ajacent wire in a harness... you need to pull things apart and start traceing wires.... actually see where it went bad... if the fuse didn't blow Id be willing to bet that a "module" of some sort is out of perhaps a relay...

OK, I'm very thankfull for the advice. I started pulling stuff apart and noticed a new fuse panel on the outside of the glovecompartment on passenger side!
Found the bad fuse.
