I installed a Crime Stopper CS2000III in my 2002 Mitsubishi Montero Sport today.Everything functions fine, chirps, flashes, locks and unlocks; the onlyissue is that the Mitsubishi factory door alarm usually dings when thekey is in the ignition and a door is open, it now dings one solid toneuntil the door is closed after using the remote to unlock/disarm thealarm. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I can only give an "educated" guess. It seems something with your Crimestopper system is sending a continual signal to the parking lights. It shouldn't be the door or ignition problem since you state that just "dings".

The lights left on usually will give a "solid" tone as you state.

Other then that see if your domelight supervision is causing this, but it is most likely the lights.

If that's the case and it can't be "programmed" out, you will need to diode or relay isolate the light flash circuit.

Keep me posted, good luck.

No problem, glad I could help.

I too am often guilty of overlooking the obvious. And after 15 years of installing I still see or learn something new everyday. Guess that's what keeps things "interesting"

Take care.
