I am concidering seat heaters in my '06 Toyota Tacoma quad cab. I had them in my last truck and they sure were nice. Anyone have a suggestion on brand and comments on ease of installation?

Thanks...

I use audiovox heated seat kits, installation isn't dificult but definetly requires some mechanical inclination. I've never had any problems with audiovox so I haven't strayed towards any cheaper brands.

I installed Heizgerat Setzt II heaters in my 2002 Accord last winter. So far they work great.

Wiring and installation is straightforward, but you do have to be able to remove your seats from the vehicle, remove the covers from the seats and wire up the included switches.

The factory toll-free assistance was very helpful and made sure I didn't screw up and put the back warmer in the passenger seat (interferes with the air bag system). I got them off Ebay but you can check them out at www.heated-seats.com

I travel 33K per year between construction sites, park outside, live in PA where we get our share of snow, and spend as much time as possible in the Allegheney Mountains in the winter....I think that I deserve the small pleasure of a toasty behind (LOL)! I am quite surprised that a seat warmer would cause questions regarding my manhood! (just kidding)

I guess my real question is what's involved in removing the covers on a Toyota Tacoma seat? I have seen TV shows where they removed seat covers, some have hog rings, some have some sort of plastic tracking. I briefly stuck my head under the seat and I think that it has some sort of plastic retainers.

Hog rings are becoming rare, The plastic clips probably are the major portion of holding the seat cover on. I am bettin if you take that seat out and release those clips (can be tricky) you'll be able to either roll up the seat cover or get enough room to apply the seat heating element to the cushion. It just takes patience and time.

I use the Seat Comfort Systems and use the Carbon Fiber systems for my customer's. Very well priced and easy to install ( depending on the vehicle of course )
