06 ford superduty diesel.

Can't get starter to go into tach learn mode. I have tried 4 different units and all the same will go into normal programming and valet but not tach sense mode learn.Truck starts for 5 seconds then shuts off. I have between 1-6 volts AC on the correct wire like book says. The directions say to start vehicle with key press brake and hit program/valet button five times.Led will come on solid and lights also then release brake led will stay solid then turn off.I have called tech support and they said to try holding brake first, also try putting in and out of valet first. They said to hit button real fast.I have tried hitting fast slow,on and off the brake all at once everything hood open door open closed anybody got an Idea thanks

Every Prostart I am familiar with you must hold the hoodpin switch down for 6 seconds and release it. When the parking lights come on, quickly press and release the hoodpin again. The parking lights should come on for 20 seconds. Before they go out, press and hold the brake pedal. Press the lock and unlock buttons on the remote at the same time. Then release the brake pedal. The parking lights should flash 4 times. Start the engine. Wait a few seconds and then press and release the brake pedal. The parking lights should flash 5 times. The tach should now be programmed. If this doesn't work check that you have grounded the remote starter into the chassis and not the dash framing. Some Fords use a high voltage on their tach lines that some remote starters don't like.

As long as you used the GREEN / WHITE wire under the dash, you may need to return the 3300 unit and make sure they give you a new CPU with the high threshhold jumper. This should solve your problem.

I trried the GREEN / WHITE wire under the dash and mine had no voltage I read on here somebody went to left fenderwell there is some kind of pcm and go to middle plug I think purple wire (dont have in front of me now) but anyhow it has 1.5 volts AC at idle and goes up with the accellerator.I have tried 4 modules all sitting here but all do the same.I start truck press brake and hit program button 5 times super fast lights go solid but no led like book says and i let go of brake and lights go out.try to start and get 5 seconds.

I just installed a amenity pro start 3300 alarm/autostart in a 2006 GMC 2500hd diesel.and the alarm keeps going off about every 20 to 25 minutes.I have unplugged the shock sensor and the hood is closed doors shut tight and domelight is off.Is there some sort of module that wakes or sleeps to trigger something. The only wire that I was unsure of is the factory disarm wire in drivers door module light green but there were 2 greens in there other then that kinda lost anyclues thanks

You have to diode isolate the door triggers from the BCM. That will solve your problem.

I just installed a amenity prostart 3300 alarm/autostart on a 2006 gmc 2500hd diesel and the blasted alarm goes off 20 to 25 minutes after alarm is set.I have unplugged and also turned down shock sensor hood is shut and domelight is off. Is there any kind of sleep or awake mood that something may be triggering the alarm.Everything is hooked up the same way I just did a chevy 2500hd diesel except the GMC had factory pwr locks, alarm.Anyway except 1 wire the wire off my alarm is suppose to go to factory disarm which said was in door module light green wire but I found 2 plugs and each have a green plug I am lost.thnaks

Hey I have 2 ford f350's both diesel 2002 and 2006 and cant get remote start to learn tach.Starter is a amenity prostart 3300.They say it needs to see between 1-6 volts AC and should be GREEN / WHITE wire tape up by emergency brake.I got wire but getting less then 1 volt on both. Also found a gray wire in middle plug of pcm on left fenderwall.I have put a bunch in different cars and tach always goes into learn mode and takes but on these 2 it doesnt even go itno learn mode.So I believe it is because signal is to low.am I right? I have also poked around the injectors and found a couple AC reading at other spots all over 1 volt but none increase when gas pedal pushed and this is driving me nuts.thanks

what could I make or use to bump the tach signal up on the power stroke I read on the dieselstop dot.com doing a search on google and it gave me a part number and called it a ford tach signal booster but when I called ford they said it was a bad part number and could find any info on something like that or they sluffed me off not sure.part # I got is pn102818-2

I am trying to get remote start to work. The stupid thing will not learn the tach and there is no tachless feature on it.However there is a vacuum input but you cant get vacuum off a powerstoke diesel. So what I want to do is either use the normally closed - or the normally closed + from the vacuum sense to allow truck to start and not shut off after 5 seconds.I played around with it already and here is what I got . I have to remote start truck once it is started but before it shuts off in 5 seconds I  either need to touch the - to ground or the + to power for a second or two and the truck will continue to run in remote start mode fine but if I leave wires on and go to remote start the engine cycles glowplugs (12 seconds) then gets a very slight crank and stops so I have to remove wire and restart then when started touch either wire to - or + any idae where to get power only on when engine running or a positive that switches to ground when engine starts

What did you install?   I have never heard of a vacuum sense connection on a remote startposted_image

Instead of going through all that..just connect the tach wire. Heres how...

06 Ford heavy duty tach:

Notes: On diesel vehicles the tach wire is lt. GREEN / WHITE in a 5 wire harness held up with white tape behind the parking brake release.

Can also use the DEI 454T tach signal generator.

A lot of units won't learn the tach signal on the 2005 and up Ford Superduty Diesels. Using the 454T tach signal generator is a good work around.

I've done two remote starts where I couldn't get a good tach signal and what I did was wrapped the tach sense wire around a spark plug wire. Coiled it around about 10-12 times and secured it with 3 zip ties. I forget who told me to try this trick, but it did work.

I use the 454t on every single 6.0 liter Ford that I do and have never had a single tach problem since I started using it. It is also a very simple hook up. It zip ties around the power wire coming off of the alternator, has a power, ground, and one wire to go to the tach wire of the rs and that is it. Very simple and works like a charm.

Did you try grabbing the wire under the dash above the brake pedal as suggested ? I have used this countless times without a problem and also, the ProStart system you have also has a high threshhold tach option as well does it not ?

I have never been able to get a 6.0 liter powerstroke to learn tach using the wire under the dash either. As far as where to get a 454t, check with your local DEI dealer or you can buy one from their online store.
