I have installed an Astrostart 2106U in a 2006 Honda Accord LX.  Remote start cranks very short time, occasionally ( 1 of every five times) starts, but kills immediately.  Error code is "greater than 3000 rpm."  I took the tach signal from a solid blue wire to the ignition coils.  This wire read 2.5V AC.  Can anyone please explain 1.  The goofy tach programming ( default 1 cylinder, 800 rpm?) and 2.  where to find the proper tach connection on the 2006 Honda Accord for this unit.  Is voltage sense an option?  BTW, I tried tach connections to the ECM, blue/red and solid blue, neither worked.  Thanks in advance.

Tach for the 2006 Accord that I use is actually in the car. I did 3 Accords just today. (I work at a Honda Dealership). If you have astrochart, they show a picture of it, but if you dont, I'll try to explain it best I can on the location. Under the dash, there is a group of plugs to the left of the steering column. This group of plugs is connected to a metal piece of the under dash by a YELLOW faster. Unclip the yellow faster and pull down on the group of plugs, it will unclip from the metal part of the underdash. Situate that group of plugs so its now upside down. There will be a BLUE/RED wire coming from a white plug. The white plug is connected to a brown or blue plug just for reference. This BLUE/RED wire is your tach wire. There are i think 2 blue/red wires, but one is on the blue or brown plug, dont use that one. The tach wire you will use will be using is on the WHITE plug. Use automatic tach learn to program. I am pretty sure its 6 cylinder though, but use auto learn to be sure. I hope this helps ya!

The blue/red is a 2 cyl. reading, so make sure you program accordingly.

Many thanks to green6767 and KarTuneMan for your help. Green6767 had the tach wire spot-on.  The Astrostart did learn the tach right away.  The only other issue was to wrap the passkey antenna around the ignition cylinder three times because of a weak signal.  Bottom line, the unit works perfectly.  Even got the rear defogger to energize with a utility command and the programmable relay.  Thanks again.
