Not to doubt your ability to check but did you meter the wire at the brake as well as make sure that you have the proper BRAKE input wire for the Motorjoy system ?

let me see if I understand your situation correctly. you are saying that you use the remote start to start the car and it shuts off when you apply the brake without the key in the ignition? if thats the case then thats what its supposed to do.

i personally have no experiance with them you will have to check that starter is getting the right polarity that its expecting and that you are using the correct wire on alarm.. is there another shut down. you could wire into that

@ killer sonata all starters that i've done are supposed to be cnnected to the brake pedal. he is discribing the fault doesn't neccessarily want to shut the car down with the pedal. if he has the key in the ignition the sterter is still running the vehicle not the ignition switch. that is the porblem with not having a pedal to shut it down.

What year make and Model vehicle are you working on??
I once did a bulldog remote start on a 98 chevy silverado and for some reason it would not start with the brake shutdown wire connected. I couldnt figure it out for the life of me why the module was "seeing" positive on that wire when the pedal wasnt pressed. I must have metered that wire 20 times to try and figure it out. I ended up wiring up a relay to the brake pedal wire so that it connected the brake wire to the shutdown wire only when the pedal was pressed, it effectively "isolated" the wires. Worked like a charm.
