Looking for a professional opinion. Are all DEI brand remote starts comparable in quality, performance, etc. For example, is the Avital 4200 comparable to a Viper 160XV ?

yep    

the differences are usually in the antenna they are shipped with..... Valet may ship with an HX antenna whereas a Viper will ship with an XR or XR+ antenna.....

Kevin - Thanks for the input.

I looking at the Avital 4200 and want to make sure that I am not installin an inferior starter in my truck.

Any experience with the small HX superheterodyne antenna that comes with the 4200?

all are ther same except the antenna they are shipped with and the style of the remote.
