In the 4 Ford vehicles, ive not once ever been able to get the keyless modules to take. Can some explain what im not doing? If im understanding these right, you have 5 seconds between each step to comeplete the step or is is 5 seconds total? Im trying to program a PKUF3 on a 06 F150, 1st key,, light goes out, quickly insert key 2,, light goes out, according to Code Alarm, with the same key (2nd), turn ignition on while grounding the brn (grounded while running) wire to program. Ive done all this so many times and the damn theft light just blinks. What am i doing wrong? Thanks in advance.

Your problem is with the third step. The instructions tell you to use a jumper to energize the ignition circuit, and make sure the ground input on the pku is seeing a negative, not to turn it on with the key. When you insert the two preprogrammed keys the vehicle knows to learn the next key it sees. When you put in the second key again, it will not go into learn mode. Have all of your connections made. After the second key, pull it out, keep it away from the key cylinder, and remote start the vehicle (within 5 seconds of the last step). The vehicle learns the chip in the pkuf3 as it was a third key.

Well, i tried that and it just wont take. I did within 3 seconds too. The keys were on the pass side so they were anywhere near the ignition. Its a code alarm and ive tried 3 of them so far. Theft light just blinks.

I did a 05 Ford Escape last winter and had to resort to a bypass that actually used a factory programmed key. I was using Astrostart stuff, but same result it would not take no matter what I tried.

Do you have access to a 556sw? Way easy to program.

I don't think so. This link will tell you what will work from dei. This one from bypasskits.com.

A. You are not doing the programming procedure correctly.

B. You are using the wrong bypass on the wrong vehicle. The PKU-F3 is NOT for the 06 F-150. You would want a PKF-3, there is a difference. You will never get the one you have to program on that truck.

I just did an Escape two weeks ago, I had a similar problem. I tried two different kits with that same procedure and it failed. It was the placement of the ring around the key cylinder, it is very sensitive. So I dropped it and went with the one that you have to tap directly into the TX and RX data wires. It worked the first time, and that’s the kit I am using from now on. I hate that ring around the cylinder kits.

Every time I do a ford with a ring befor i even install anything i pull the mod apart....you will find a chip inside usually srink wrapped to the board somewhere. I take the chip out and keep it in reach. I out the first key in and wait. after i have the 2nd key in I give the first key to a buddy to wrapp the black part of the key in tin foil.....after the 2nd key is finished i will take the first key and insert it into the slot. as i hold the chip by the key while i turn it over i watch the theft light.... if it is on solid i turn it over and start it....done...fords are pickey and it takes a few try.....I promis that this works. done it a hundred times.

use an xk04 pkford bypass.. works every time... Much easier than the collar around the ign, and no the bulb wont work, and yes you are useing the wrong bypass to begin with...

We were told by directed to always use a 1100F on the newer Fords and to stop using the older units (which will be phased out anyway). No key is needed except for initial programming. We installed one yesterday. Turn the ignition on and wait for the anti-theft light to go out - within 5 seconds insert the second key and repeat - after the light goes out push the button on the unit and programming is done posted_image
