I am working on a project for school and I need to purchase a basic remote car starting system. Nothing fancy as it will probably end up complicating my project. Any advice you could provide on where to get one or anything else would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Dave

How much do you want to spend?  You can create your own if you just need it to be really simple for a school project.

or if you need an entire unit you could buy one here:

I saw that, however, I need a remote also. I am kinda building around a standard remote start system. Thanks for the reply though! :)

you can buy a cheap one from www.bulldogsecurity.com ....they're like $35 or $40.

The Bulldog and Designtech ones are both kinda sucky, but they're cheap and you can get them at most department stores.

What is your project about?  Do you specifically need a remote starter, or just the ability to control things by remote?  For around $30 at the auto parts store, you can buy a pretty simple device that will turn a car's fog lights on and off by remote control.  Also, some keyless-entry systems can be had for around the same price.
