Does anyone know if the GMBP can be used on the 2006 Equinox? DEI is listing the vehicle as Passlock II and shows the 556l as what to use. I prefer the GMBP because it does not require cutting any of the factory wiring.   Bypasskit.com does not list the GMBP as an option, only the PL series. I ask, because I have some GMBP's but would have to order a different bypass if this will not work. I am assuming that the data information must be different with the Equinox, but would like to know if anyone has tried the GMBP with the Equinox.

Yeah the GMBP won't work on it. Even the PLXR or PLJX seem to be iffy at best on the equinox. We have a lot of problems with them. They usually work a few times and then lock the vehicle up.. I found programming them with the door shut seems to work better for whatever reason.

Thanks for the response.

It is just a R/S and I was really trying to avoid cutting any wires in the vehicle, but I guess I will go with the 556L. If anyone knows of a bypass other than these that do not require cutting of the factory wiring and work well I am all ears.

Thanks again.

The PLXR works perfectly on the Equinox. Mike if you know of someone having a problem, it probably is due to a mistake on the install. If the wire connections are good and the ground is to the vehicle chassis they shouldn't have problems. The big mistake I see some installers make, is that they don't power up the brown accessory wire in the truck as an accessory. This must be done in order for the truck to start correctly. The other big mistake is installers don't program the PLXR correctly. It must be used in mode 2 and wired as a mode 2. Don't hook the starter wire up to the PLXR.

Company wide we have done 100's of equinoxs between about 15 different installers. And I will admit majority of them we never see again. However, there is far too many I've seen just lock up for no obvious reason. Double check everything and trouble shoot them to get nowhere, because everything is hooked up fine. Swap the bypass and never hear back from the customer. They have gotten better now in the later versions of the plxr, but we still have problems. Just had one of the flash logic types lock out a customer on an equinox this week actually. I support trilogix a 100%, but the PLXR will always be a last resort for me I don't use it anymore than I have to.

PLJX usually doesnt require cutting any wires, just tapping onto them.......
