Has anyone had any success interfacing a 06 Hummer H3 Passlock 2 with dei 556l? I installed a Clifford rsx 3.5 into my 06 H3 using the dei 1603 doc, and everything works. Although, I would like to interface with the factory security, not bypass it. I installed a dei 556l and obtained the R-code (I thought) but it will not start; starter does not crank, I think bcm kills instantly. I can do the r\s takeover, and key takeover. I double checked connections. I am out of ideas. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Sean

I tried the 556l on 1 h3, it did not work. As far as it goes I am pretty sure to date is to use the relays and a resistor...Someone should correct me if I am wrong as I have one coming in next tuesday.posted_image.

The 1603 relay/resistor works great for bypassing. Did you use the passlock 2 or the Canyon/Colorado wiring (556l manual)? I wired the Canyon/Colorado, I have not tried the passlock 2 wiring. Let me know if I should try that.

Thanks,
Sean

I tried the canyon/col. set-up. Another shop I sometimes talk to the owner said they installed the 556l on a h3 and wired it like a canyon and it worked flawless for them. I have done many canyons but the h3 I tried it on would not learn the code. You can try it I think its a gamble though and it would seriuosly suck to get stranded ot have a customers car do like wise. IMO I would leave it unitl trilogix gets a interface out for it.

I had a feeling that I would have to use the bypass and wait for a different interface module. One thing that I forgot to mention, I somehow did get the rs to work. Some combination of key start, rs takeover, key takeover, and key off (I forget the combo)actually allows the rs to function (not consistently). If that makes sense. The passlock signal must still be on the wires? Anyways, I am about to throw the bypass back in. If anyone has any other suggestions I am still interested in getting this to work.

Thanks for the help.

There have been many reports of starting issues on the H3 when using interface modules to hook into the Passlock II system. The prefered method is to use relays and resistors. Using an interface module will work, but I have seen many come back for no starts at times. There is something in the vehicle that screws up most modules at one time or another. If you don't want any problems, go with what works every time, relays and resistors.
