The reset part should be easy just disconnect the negative battery post for about 10-15 mins but if a problem still exists it will just turn on again. check all wiring again and make sure the harnesses onthe dash bezel are all plugged in because i believe there is a connector at the air bag light itself. Hope this helps.

The light should turn off when problem is fixed without undoing the batt. If you had the radio trim panel out make sure the passenger side airbag light is plugged in, it will trip the light.

We had this happen today. Turns out the light comes on when the radio is unplugged.

The radio dosnt effect the airbag light ,its the passenger side airbag light being unplugged that causes the light to come on. Its right above the radio and is unplugged to remove the radio trim panel.

Yeah, I figured it out, was nothing to do with the rs or even our install.. The 50 pin connector in the drivers kick panel was not connected.. the bolt that holds the 2 peices together had never been tightened. Just so happens that it came loose when I was working on it... Was real weird...things kept getting proggressivly worse.. first the bag light, then a check eng ligth, then no radio volume, then dash lights would stay on, then no start,... Thanks for the help guys!

It does if you've installed a PATS bypass unit. You will get a code of 18 in some Fords. Per the Ford service manual: "The air bag electronic crash sensor (ECS) module supports features which are not used in Taurus/Sable vehicles. The wiring harness pins used by the ECS for these features are normally left disconnected in Taurus/Sable vehicles. If the ECS detects a connection to Pin 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 16, 18, 20, 23, 24, 25, 26 or 27, it will store a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) B1871, B1877, B1878, B1879, B1881, B1882, B1883, B1884, B1885, B1886, B1889, B1890, B1901 or B1941 in memory and flash a lamp fault code (LFC) 14, 17, 18, 25, 27, 41, 46 or 47."
