I am going to istall a CT-3200 on my Vitara 2003 the coming long week-end. I just read the wiring schematic. but still have some questions.

1. On the CT-3200 wiring Schematic , there are two 12V input. One is marked as "12v(Battery)", another is "+12V(battery)". what's the difference of these two inputs?
Shall I connect both them to the same +12V wire if there is only one 12V wire found in the CAB? Or Shall I just connect one of it to the +12V wire?

2. Regarding the hood switch. If I just install it under the hood. The switch is open while the hood is close. That means the input of the CT-3200 is not groud while the hood is closed.
Or maybe I should install it in another way, make the switch close to get the input of the grey wire grounded while the hood is closed.

3.Where can I found the Tach wire.

4.If I just want to use the basic remote start function, Can I ignore all the 12 pin connections.

Thank you in advance, Any input is appreciated.
Best Regards

Kevin

Kevin,

"1. On the CT-3200 wiring Schematic , there are two 12V input. One is marked as "12v(Battery)", another is "+12V(battery)". what's the difference of these two inputs?

Connection - Make both red wires from the remote starter unit to the +12V sources (WHITE/ green) on the vehicle.

"what's the difference of these two inputs?"

First red power up 1st ignition and starter, second red may power up 1st, 2nd accessory, 2nd ignition etc. That may not be the case, and I may be wrong, but that is the gerneral idea how thing are fire up when you hit the start button on the remote.

"2. Regarding the hood switch. If I just install it under the hood. The switch is open while the hood is close. That means the input of the CT-3200 is not groud while the hood is closed."

The hood switch is a safety function and nothing more. Hood switch see a ground when the hood is up, remote starter will not start. This is what I mean. For example, the remoter see the ground, it recognized the hood is up, you are making minor adjustment with you hands in the engine and your kids got a hold of the remote control and push the start button. An accident would have occur, but instead your hand still remains intact because it just happen that the hoodpin is grounded and properly install by you.

"Or maybe I should install it in another way, make the switch close to get the input of the grey wire grounded while the hood is closed."

I think I explain it above.

"3.Where can I found the Tach wire. "

Tachometer is Brown at the instrument cluster or ECM
Notes: The ECM (Engine Control Module) is located behind the glove box.

ECM is the easiest.

"4.If I just want to use the basic remote start function, Can I ignore all the 12 pin connections. "

Well, that depends. The easiest way for us to answer you is probably you tell us the one you thing it can be ignore with an explanation why it should be ignore. We supply you with the correct feedback.

Hope this helps. Goodluck Kevin.
