I got the chance to work on one of these cars today. Search the forum for a wiring diagram with no lock. DEI wiring is about 98% wrong. So I did it the old fashion way with a meter and a lot of searching and testing. Here’s what I found. 12V – Red with white stripe (Under dash left of steering column)
Starter - Black with a red stripe (back of ignition cylinder in column)
Ignition - Black (back of ignition cylinder in column)
2ND - Ignition – Black with a white stripe (back of ignition cylinder in column)
Brake- Black with a red stripe (Under dash left of steering column) Note: Ignition must be powered in order to test wire
Lock/Unlock- Green with a white stripe (driver door module in door) Note: One wire lock/unlock, meter wire while turning key in driver door key cylinder. Lock/arm is straight negative trigger unlock is negative trigger thru a 250 ohm resistor; must use relays. ------------- Cris

Nice detective work but I just visited DEI's site and looked for wiring on an 06 Jetta and found none. Did you assume the wiring for an 05 would be the same as an 06 coming to the conclusion that the DEI site was 98% wrong? Just curious. :) ------------- MECP Certified

Yes, I figured it would be the same, same body. Well in this case it is was 100% right. LOL Forgot to add, must set unit to double pluse unlock in order to unlock all doors. ------------- Cris

There is no tech sheets for an 06 Jetta. In my saying directechs sheet was 98% wrong was not truthful since there is no tech sheet for 06's. So by them not giving any info on 06 would be 100% right since there no wrong info. I have also submitted my finding to DEI, get the ball rolling on getting a full tech sheet. To bad I was only doing a Viper 160 otherwise I would have went looking for all the other wires. Cliffnotes: corny jokes. ------------- Cris

Also to clear thing up I meant that sheet 2005 Jetta was 98% wrong( for a 2006 Jetta). I use directechs all the time. Its by far the best I've come across.

Is there any other interface which doesn't require the use of a key?

ADS-DL-CA by Idata link does transponder bypass as well as doors, alarm, trunk, hoodpin, tach, windows, fuel door, defrost all in one little box, problem is I only seem to get them to work about 80% of the time and the rest of the time they just put me behind schedule.

Arm | Arms With Lock | Not available | Multiplex
Disarm | Disarms with Unlock | Not available | Multiplex
Doorpin | BROWN / Yellow | Inside Driver's Door | -
note: i use ADS-AL CA from IDATALINK because i can not find any good tach wire (injector, coil, cam vary 0 to 5 volt AC) underhood. The 2.5l it's easy but not the 2.0l turbo..Avyway whit this wiring i take 1h30m to do. And also the module it's good for doorlock ect...
