need help finding tach wire for r/s.  the pink/blue wire in the instrument cluster is reading 15v ac.  the pink/black in the instrument cluster is reading 0.8v ac.  the only wire i have found that actually adjusts when you tap the accelerator pedal is a PURPLE / white wire coming off the side of the distributor.  it reads 0.8v ac and when accelerator is tapped, it goes up to 1.9v ac.  i thought the tach wire was supposed to read between 1.5 to 6.  I am using the PURPLE / white wire and the starter only cranks for less than a second (not long enough to start the truck).  the r/s is a galaxy 5000 and does not have a program setting to adjust crank time, and because it is a manual transmission, it can not be run tachless.  any advice would be appreciated.

According to directtech you should be looking for either pink/blue or black at the cluster or the ecm.

Use a fuel injector wire. Just pick a color that's not common to all the injectors.

Find a lt.blue coming off the base of the distributor. It's next to a black wire.

i see a small two wire harness coming off the base of the distributor with a blue wire and a black wire, separate from the main wire harness.  is that what you are referring to?
