When using an add-on remote starter to factory remote, most vehicles such as hondas or toyotas will not work with the car running.  Does anyone know a way around that?

It is 100% impossible.
Do search if you dont believe me.
You will mess up the car's control unit if you try.

On Honda's and Toy's i prefer a one button RS. The problem i have with using an add on is once the car is started you can't shut it off again unless you enter the car. With a one button you still need to use the key to get in, but at least you can turn the device off if you want. Another feature i like about one button's over add on's, go to 7 eleven to get a coffee in the morning, you can start the one button while you run in without having to turn the car off....

just get a keyless entry r/s...dei's valet 561R or 562T
or Prestige aps-687, all these units will still arm and disarm your factory alarm if that is what you are worried about.
