I got my Remote start all hooked up and it is working great.  I did damage the 2 pieces though trying to put it back together, that just are supposed to snap together.  Well they will not stay connected as some of the hooks broke.

These pieces are the top and bottom plastic that wrap around the column right behind the Steering wheel. The top piece is the piece that wraps around the Gear Shifter, the key cylinder and the Hazard light button on the top.  This piece comes off easy.  So I can get this off no problem.

The problem is getting the bottom piece off, as it has the Tilt lever for the Stearing wheel coming through it and I don't see how to remove the lever.  Can anyone tell me this so that I can replace the pieces?

Thanks,

Bryan

It pulls out towards the drivers door. It requires a strong pull to get if off. Try using a small screwdriver to pry it away from the plastic hole it slides into.

If its a plastic and in a bent shape you have to use a pick and lift the metal retainer up and pull to the driver door.

Use a flash light rite on it and you will see what im talkin bout

if it is a straight metal lever use vgrips to unscrew it
You may scratch the paint on it, but you can just flat black it again.

Thanks guys.  I have the Bent plastic one So I will look for the Metal Clip.  I hope the new pieces will come in today, as it looks pretty bad to me, not closing all the way, as I damaged the plastic snaps.

I will let you know if I have any problems.

Mine just pulled straight out, there was no metal clip on it.  It took a little force, but it came out no problem.
