The paper says the tach wire is located at ecm above drivers kick panel. Blue wire. No pin location and there is about 10 blue wires. I was just wondering an easy way to test these blue wires to fond the one that is my tach wire.
I thought the tach was the negative side of the coil so will the wire be grounded when the car is running? Any replies will help.
Thanks
Matt

Use the blue wire in the black plug of the instrument cluster. It is the one next to the yellow wire. It will test as an AC voltage signal that varies between 1 and 9 volts with RPM.

Tachometer is AC voltage, set your meter to AC voltage, ground one lead, probe with the other lead. Your reading will increase and decrease with RPM of the engine.

TACH SIGNAL | White | Pin-47 on ECM above DKP | AC | | | You can also use the WHITE or YELLOW at the coil pack on the left side of the engine. Here the wire provides a 2 cylinder signal. (see the photo) |
