K guys I want to see who can help me out with this one, before I get started some background info; 1) car; 93 lx, 5 spd, basic deal (no cruise, a/c, alarm, wtc. just the basic car) 2)I am a heavy equipment tech and a wiring guru at work.
Now I bought a ct3260 remote starter from crappy tire and installed it, I have checked all the wiring 3 times for faults and or mistakes, I found none. The problem comes when I attempt to program this POS. I flash the hood pin as per normal and that works fine, however it will not accept the transmitter code, the park lights do come on but stay on solid they do not flash 5 times as per the instructions. I need help here guys its -20 celsius and I want to get this damn thing workin right. I tried both methods of programming it and neither worked, I have even reset the damn thing to no avail. The site for it is at www.prostart.org I am stumped any help would be appreciated. It does all the other functions bang on as well (ie, reset, valet mode, etc...)

I flash the hood pin by pressing it down for 4 seconds then letting go and quiclky pushing it down and releasing, then I turn the key on and off then I hold the lock button down for like 15 seconds at least. After about 3 seconds the park licghts come on and stay on for about 20 seconds. I have used the pab do do this as well to see if that worked.

ok I went back to canadian tire and got a new one to replace the one I had, worked nicely, I programmed the remote and it recieves the signal no problem. Now this is where it gets confusing, can someone run down the process with me from the step after programming the remote, since when I did the tach programming I noticed that the park brake had to be disengaged for it to work for tach programming. I got to the step that takes you to idle mode but after I press button 2 when I am out of the vehicle and it shuts down the vehicle does not start again when I press button 2.

yup clutch is bypassed but I did not hook it into the remote starter mine is a simple 2 wire so I just made a fused jumper for it.

I am inclined to think that I have not set the car into ready mode, they are not really clear on the instructions about doing that, I am pretty sure that is all I need to do with this remote.

To put it into ready mode, have the car running. Engage the parking brake and put it into neutral. Take your foot off the brake and press the start button on the remote for a few seconds. When you hear a few clicks and the lights flash you can remove the key. Open the drivers door and then close it. Push the lock button on the remote. The car should shut down or it may take one minute until it does. After it shuts down, then you push the start button on the remote to activate the starter. If you haven't hooked up the drivers door pin wire or the parking brake wire, then you must otherwise the system won't work.

lol I feel stupid now after checkin over the wiring schematics, I forgot to connect the wire for the door pin, so I will do that tomorow, its a - polarity so I am just going to ground it out and then try to get the remote to start the car. I printed off the autostart wiring info, I somehow missed that step. I will let you know how I make out after I hook it up.

yeah I got the wiring info on the car, I am pretty much a guru when it comes to escorts, I am super familiar with them. The remote starter game however I have not done so much with. I never got the time to install that wire today but I will get the time soon, as soon as I do I will update and let ya know how I made out.

ok I got everything hooked up and it worked for me twice, I got a loose wire that goes into the plug which I have to reinforce so I think that will clue it up, thanks for the help.
