i install a boa remote start on my 2000 mazda protege and it works ok except for almost no range at all,i sanded the area by the kick like the manual sujested and sometimes a get good range and then the next time i have to be liked 20 ft. away from the car. so i guess i have to live with this problem until i get a better system,so i i purchase a code alarm i believe the model is sci-200 and i want to know if you guys could help me connect it correctly, i connect it and it works ok except also has no range. the alarm has a wire that tells you to connect remote start or other devices. do i have to unistall all the remote start wire and connect just 1 wire to this output or what? thank for any help. both of the systems works but i have to use both remotes and i have to turn off the alarm first b-4  i can start the car with the remote start. or elde the alarm goes off. thanks again.

The Boa is not a long-range remote start.

Does the Code-Alarm unit have just a little piece of wire as the antenna, or is a separate antenna that sticks onto the windshield glass?

If it's only a piece of wire, you're not going to get much range, no matter what the brand. You can get a little antenna kit to move the wire antenna up high atop the windshield, but that only makes a small difference.

I'm not sure what you paid for the CSI-200, but it wouldn't have cost much more just to get an alarm/starter combo, and save lots of your time.

Can you still return the thing you just bought, and buy a combination unit?

YEAH BOTH OF THIS SYSTEMS HAVE A LITTLE WIRE ANTENNA ,NOT THE ONE YOU CAN PLUG IN. I GUESS YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR, IT DID NOT COST ME MUCH,SO LIKED YOU SAID, I WILL BE GETTING A COMBO UNIT SOON. I JUST WHAT TO KNOW IF I HAVE TO CONNECT THE RS TO THE ALARM ON THRU A SINGLE WIRE THAT SAYS REMOTE OUTPUT ON THE ALARM OR I HAVE TO CONNECT BOTH UNIT WITH ALL THE WIRING THAT COMES ON THE KITS. SEE EACH ONE HAS POWER,GROUN,IGNITION CUT OFF,ETC. SO WHEN I ENGAGE THE REMOTE START THE ALARM GOES OFF.THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP.
