Hello i am trying to find the neutral saftey switch in a 2006 scion tc.  My friend added a remote start on a nissan sentra and he tapped into the neutral safety switch on the transmisson.  So no matter what if the shifter is in any gear it will not start.  If its in neutral it will start.  I am going to try putting one in a scion and i am unfamiliar with the location of the neutral safety switch.  any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

I was about to tell you that I don't think there's a neutral-safety switch on Toyota products..........but you found it?

Please post back with details. Where? And what polarity when the car is in neutral?

well i thought i found it but no luck.  i will be trying again over the weekend.  i am thinking of adding two hood pin switches in side the car under the shifter where the shifter cable is.  so if the shifter is in any gear it will trigger the switch and disable the remote starter.  i have done this before and it work great

Most manual transmission car sdo not have a neutral switch. The clutch switch is the safety.

Here's a trick i've done for manuals and it's worked for me. I installed a shock sensor directly on the motor to disengage the starter if the motor jumps(which it will if in gear with the e brake on). You have to use a cheap sensor that will trigger easy, and one that has water resistance(like the old clear ones that were mounted on a SS strap). The most the car moves is an inch or so. Adjustment is critical tho...
