Hello, the accord I am planning to install a remote start has a factory security and keyless entry system. The remote for the factory system is on the head of the key. The car has a spare key but with the remote to it and a valet key. The valet key looks like the nissan transponder keys and its grey. But the owner of the car tells me the key only works to unlock the back seats so they can be brought down. Supposably the valet key doesnt work to start the car which is pretty wierd. My question is if i can use the valet key for the transpond. bypass or will my customer have to lose a key with the remote?

There has to be at least 10 or 12 bypass kits out there that DO NOT require a key, only keys for programming.

Try www.bypasskits.com

Yeah, that does sound weird.

Either the customer is mistaken, or it's possible that the key isn't the original one..........someone cut it to fit the car, but never got around to programming it.

I would try to find some super-polite way of getting your hands on the key and trying it for yourself.

The key is the original one from the factory. It has the honda logo and a "V" on the key. now that i remebered, it actually still has some plastic around the key like if it was new. maybe the customer hasnt tried the key out. thats what ill do

According to my Honda Accord owners manual.

"The master key fits all the locks on your vehicle. The valet key works only in the ignition and the door locks. You can keep the trunk release handle, rear seat trunk access, and glove box locked when you leave your vehicle and the valet key at a parking facility."

You can order a key from honda that will open everything and start the car but will not have the remote buttons on the key.
