looking for idea/s to create a system to allow this vehicle to run without the keys in it for longer than the standered time of 15-20 minutes like remote starters allow. this is a emergency vehicle and will be left unattended while running, looking for a minimuim run time of 45 minutes. many on board components are tempature sensotivethis is a 2007 jeep grand cherokee, any ideas?

well, I know that my avital 4100 will run until you turn it off. selectable 12, 24 60 min and Run. also, many have a timer mode that will start at three hour intervals to worm up truck. and some will start if vehicle get to a certain temp.

All DEI units (viper, valet, hornet, avital, etc.) have a run time of 60 minutes if you want.

you could use a latching relay to keep the ignition and accessory wires powered after the runtime expires. In theory, you could have it run forever. Scytek units can be programmed for a runtime of upto 255 minutes if you have the wizard programmer. ------------- Northstart.....or start it your damn self.

I think a 1kohm resistor to ground will do this.. not entirly sure. if the mux wire sees it it thinks the key is still in the ign and wont shut off.... the best thing would be to put a rs in it.. set for continouse mode or 60 min.. call bypasskits.com tech support and tell the tech what you want to do, he's pretty good on the resistor valus that chrysler products need to see in order for them to functioin right [or wrong as this case is]
