ok i searched the forum and could not find anything relating to this. basically the problem is this. brand new car has power windows both fronts have the auto feature where you press it all the way down and it auto puts the windows all the way down or up. driver side is not working anymore. windows goes up and down but the auto feature does not work. the rest of the windows work fine just the driver side. is there any way to test for this to make sure the voltages are correct? if so which wire for up and down and what should the voltages be? im sure its 12volts but i just had to ask to be sure. does this run through a relay and could the relay be bad? or is there a sensor that i could check? nothing has been done with the car its all completly stock right now. any info that anybody can point me to please.?.?.?

Have you recently removed the switch, or the battery? Try this. With the window all the way up, push the down button and keep hold of it, when the window gets all the way down hold the button for a second or two. Do the same in the UP direction....let us know if this helps.

the door was wrecked and replaced by the dealership at first it was all the doors were working except the passengers side (from the drivers switch) i took the door panel off to see if maybe it just wasnt plugged in all the way or something after i put it all back together the passenger door now works and the only thing not working is the auto on the drivers door. but i will try that and let you know what i find out. its my neighbors car so i dont have access to it at any time.

You windows are most likely computer monitored for safety (anti pinch built in).  If the system isn't calibrated, it won't let the auto portion work.  It may tell you how to reteach the window system in the owners manual.  As far as I know, on todays cars there arn't seperate wires for the auto function, it's all built in to the power window controller.

ok according to the manual you push the button down to roll the window down then pull it up to close the window and hold it for two seconds to set it the auto feature. however this did not solve the problem. the passenger side works but the driver side does not. so i guess its a dealer time again. lets see if they can get it right this time. thanks for the input guys
