First of all...I am a new member and what a great site!!  I was told about this place by someone else and it is excellent!!  Glad to have registered.

Now...for my dilemma and questions!!  I have a keyless entry/remote start on my truck and I'm wanting to guard my toolboxes without upgrading to a alarm system.

My idea of it involves a toggle switch in the cab, pin switch on the boxes and a timer of some kind.  The idea behind it is to have the toggle switch control the power to the timer...that way during the day, I can turn it off, night, turn it on!!  Next, having a pin switch wired into a timer that when tripped activates the timer which activates an alarm siren and automatically shut off after a minute or so....no longer than 2 minutes though.

I'm just not exactly sure how I could make this work.  I was told this was the place to come!!  I have thought about like a gun timer, but all the ones I have researched only go for 8 seconds...not long enough!!

If anyone here has thought about or done this, please inform me how!!  I'd greatly appreciate any help I can get!!  Thanks much!!

I wonder if the TT3 (Turbo-Charger Cool Down Timer from Peripheral/Aamp Of America) could be made to work ?. It provides a 2 minute run output. Another one (but only up to one minute) is the VT3 (also from Peripheral).

What kind of keyless entry/remote start do you have? I know some brands have an anti grind output that doubles as a starter kill output when you lock your doors with the keyless entry. Maybe you can use this wire to your advantage if you have one.    Another thing I was thinking of is a PAC TR-7 module. It is a timer/ universal trigger output module. It can be configured for many uses. I'm pretty sure it can be wired up to send out a 30 second timed signal upon triggering.

Well...after some more digging, I found a DEI 528T pulse timer module...I think it will do exactly what I need to do!!  I ordered me one and will post an update when I do it.  It allows either + or - input & output, very versatile.  Its almost a T to what I need...even looking at the wiring diagram!!!  I'll let ya know.

My unit is a Autopage RS-600.  Thanks.
