I am going to be installing one of these for the first time... I will be doing an 07 silverado with the classic body style. I see that one of the wires(gray and black) has 2 options. One of them is to connect to the dome light(+). Do I need to connect this? Also, since I will be using PLII, the module will learn resistance through the data wire? I don't see any wire connections that need to be made like the 555l. Thanks guys!

the 457gw module is a sweet one. the grey/black that is on there is for the "door pin" trigger if you were going to be using it with an alarm system/remote starter, and if you did install the combo unit you would also need to install (connect) the light green wire to the (-)negative door pin trigger wire off the remote starter unit.
if you are doing just the remote start you only need the power, ground, status, lock&arm, unlock&disarm, the purple data wire and maybe the brown if you want to do horn honk.
and yes you are right you do NOT need to cut your passlock wires or even go near them for any reason the 457gw module does all that work.
just make sure you learn the module the way the instructions tell you to and you'll be fine.

canada's cold eh.
I see. So if I do not connect that gray and black wire, I cannot utilize the negative door trigger output(green)? If not, then I will just go to each door pin switch like usual(blue/white-grey(or tan))
