My 95 Maxima came with command start installed, 290i controller and two button remote. Pressing button one now activates the start sequence but the starter will not disengage and the unit times out and shuts down UNLESS you press button 1 again after the car starts... then the starter disengages, park lights illuminate and 1 second later the daytime running lights come on.

Install looks basic with aux 4 and aux 6 used to lock the doors and reset the alarm. There is no unlock capability from the remote. Is there a specific reason this would be done.

you need an install manual for this thing, or some GOOD help from the 12V. sounds like the thing need the tach programmed

Not only that, last night my wife complained about the alarm going off when she tried the command start and I attributed it to being electronically challenged but when we went out, sure enough if the alarm sits for 30 sec and locks down the car, the command start only triggers the alarm. After resetting the alarm, the command start functions as described above.

2 questions then...

1... Where do I get a manual on how to reprogram the tach and what settings am I looking for. The tach wire runs to the driver's side cylinder on the front bank of injectors.

2nd... There are two wires that run from the module to the door through the left kick panel. As stated, I believe they are aux 4 and aux 6 and they only lock the car, I cannot unlock the car via the command start remote.

You were right, the tach programming fixed it for the cranking issue. When I am re-programming this what sequence am I looking for. I believe I need to wake the alarm, disarm, crank, lock and arm. Is this correct ro will the disarm automatically wake and disarm the alarm, Iam certain that locking the car arms the alarm according to the FSM  (30 seconds after all doors lock and close). Right now every time I remote start the car after a long waiting period, the Nissan alarm goes off, once I cancel the alarm, the start sequence continues. I believe aux 4 and 6 have been used in the disarm, lock rearm sequence. Aux has to be the lock as the only options are (2 seconds after crank, 5 seconds after shutdown, and both). that leaves the aux 6 to disarm... any hints (throttle pulses, on until crank, or single 1 second pulse).
