I'm in the process of fitting a Clifford Intellivoice iq on my 1991 import MR2 turbo. The problem I'm having is that I can't get the Alarm to lock/unlock the doors.
I have a data sheet for my vehicle which states that the doors are negative trigger, and that the wires are black - lock BLACK / YELLOW - unlock.
Ive confirmed these are right by grounding each one, with the alarm disconected at the terminal blocks.
I also looked on the Clifford website and found this wiring diagram https://www.clifford.com/guides/wiring/g3doorlock_wiring.pdf looking at my doors I have a a ground in each door so have used that wiring diagram.
Has any one had a similar problem, or can offer any suggestions
thanks
Terry
Did you ground the RED / GREEN and the RED / ORANGE wires off the main unit ? Make sure that the connection is an absolute ground and that there is no paint or dirt under the grounding point.

Yes I tried that today. I tried using a negative feed directly from the battery, and also a ground point neither had any effect. What I have noticed is that although I can send a ground signal to the passenger door by grounding the lead attached to it, it will only work once. I have to then use the key in the lock to lock then unlock before the cars door lock switch will work for unlocking although It works fine on the lock. Also the lock diagram that I'm working from is for a G4 alarm which is newer than mine would it still be the same? heres my wiring diagram for my actual alarm

How does the target wires that you have test for the door locks ? You mentioned that this is an IMPORT MR2...does that mean it is not the US spec'd one ?

UK models may have a red \ black for lock and a green \ black for unklock they are negative trigger. hope it helps.
Luis, Sound Waves
Both show 12v at rest
Black drops to 11.37 on lock then back to 12v
BLACK / YELLOW show 12v at lock drops to 6v on unlock then back to 12v
black has continuity with ground on unlock
BLACK / YELLOW does not appear to have continuity with ground on lock
The car was imported from Japan as they dont make the turbo model in the uk. The data sheet I have came from the US, but so far every other wire colour has been correct
