Does anybody know how to clear the airbag light on a 2000 Beetle. I had blown a fuse and when I was looking for the right one to replace I pulled the airbag one by mistake so it tripped the system out. I replaced the fuse obviously but the code is still present. Any Ideas, customer comes tomorrow at 12 for the car.

do what the guy above said, but leave the battery disconnected for about 25 or more minutes

you can also disconnect both battery terminals and put a test light between the two terminals (standard bulb test light) and 10 seconds or so later you should be good to go. this helps in the draining of the power on all the electrolytic capacitors in the ECU which store that type of info. i have seen people do the old tap trick but i would not suggest it on todays newer vehicles as the vehicle may never start again.

Most vw's have to go back to the dealer to reset the airbag light. One of are installers just did a jetta and the passenger side indicator light was in  the radio trim panel and he unplugged it and turned the key on. It had to go to the dealer cost $85.
