Doing just a basic starter on this truck. What is the best solution to do the ignition immobilizer.... passkey or passlock system or what ever they call it on this new truck. Thanks for the help...

The new body style trucks require a key in a box, but we did a Sierra the other day that was an 07 and was the old bodystyle still. If that's the case, you can use a 457GW...

there are 2 versions of 07 silverados, 1 is the new style 1 is the classic ( or heritage or some lame excuse of a name to use up parts! LOL) the 07new style needs a key in a bypass( like astcbm by audiovox or 556u by dei) the classic edition is just passlock so if your only doind start a dei 556l works ( or a 457g, 1700 will work also) new style 07's have a screwed up door lock sysem, i would stay away from hooking up locks and do a 1 button start only on these animals

Looks like the CAN SL2 from Crimestopper(Fortin) will do the trick for the immobilizer bypass. Another question is how close does the resistor value have to be to the 1300 ohm value..for the starter wire.. I can combine some to like 1330 or 1280.. Will that work???

does not need starter wire hooked up, like all other new gms, car sees ignition and acc. then sees ign stay, acc. drop, vehicle cranks.i, nor a friend of mine who works at a chevy store have never hooked up starter wire and all works fine

If you look at the OBD2 connector and they have a green wire in the pin 1, it is a new GM platform and the network is CAN BUS, so you can use a PATS GM2 from CrimesStopper to do the key bypass. If else, you should have a purple wire in the pin 2 of the OBD2 connector, then you should use a GM-SL2 from CrimesSropper.
