I installed 2 additional LEDs in my 2000 civic awhile back. One in each door. This my be completely unrelated but recently the battery seems to die after sitting for a day or so without starting. I know the leds only draw like a half an amp each, but i cant attribute the problem to anything else since the battery is only 2 months old. My amps turn off with the car, and the LEDs are the only thing drawing with the car off. Alternator problem maybe?

possible that if you have a lot of leds. how many total do you have? try to see the drain on the battery with a dmm

disconnect the leds and then leave the car for a few days and see if it still does it, process of elimination. What kind of leds are you using??? most leds only require 200mA

I've never seen an LED pull 200mA either. The superbright LEDs I use draw < 30mA and are blinding. A 'normal' led should draw less then 10mA or so when on constantly. ------------- Kevin Pierson

just a .5amp for several days of draining and doing this several times will wear a battery down...

leds only draw 20mA, i work with LEDs, i can make you anything you need in the world of LEDs, just let me know at MICHAELtheLEDguy@gmail.com
