Before I pull this stuff out of my car, I want to be sure I can't make it work. I tried to program the remote according to the Karr website but no success.  My last possibility is this. I used my transponder key to turn on the ignition. The key I used in the valet switch is not a transponder key, just a blank cut to open the door locks. Will this keep the remote from programming?

I'm not sure where to begin... Firstly, I don't know of any valet switches that use a key. So when you say you're using a key "in the valet switch", I haven't a clue what you're talking about. Secondly, What Karr system do you have? Are you referring to the Ignition Immobilizing system that utilizes a transponder/fob that must be presented near the vehicle's key cylinder in order to start the car?

The Karr products are pretty solid. Unfortunately, the underpaid installers that install them usually chuck them under the dash with a little afterthought on whether they will work for any length of time.

Now then... could you please tell me the year, make, and model of your car as well as the type of Karr security system you have? It sure would help.

Well, being the Honda and car security system NOOB that I am, I mistakenly assumed the valet switch they were referring to was the one that Honda puts in to lock the gas door, glove box and trunk so the parking lot attendant can't rip you off. No wonder it didn't do anything. Now that you have identified the correct valet switch (button) I am duly educated. Thanks for waking me up.

to program karr security transmitters, all you need to do is turn on ign.......push the button on the led pod 3 times......the horn will chirp.....hit the lock button on the first tx.....horn will chirp......push lock button on second tx.......horn chirps....turn ign off.......and thats it.
