Anyone familiar with the Prestige APS996 model?

The alarm LED is on constantly which indicates that it is in "Valet" mode.  When I arm/disarm the alarm, the doors lock/unlock and parking lights blink but the siren does not beep.

My question is how do I get out of the "valet" mode?  I still need to teach the alarm the tach wire for remote start.  The manual tells you how to get into "valet" mode but it does not say how to get out of it.

-Thanks

I can't believe the manual doesn't tell you how to get out of valet.

Turn the key to Run, then tap the valet/program switch once, and the light will go out.

I have the same alarm, and I'm going to install it this week when I get a chance, I was just wondering, where did you place your antenna inside the car?

Its in the book...step #8 or so i beleive...but its tricky to get to the steps, after u hit the button 3 times, turen the ignition back on, then lets say u nee to get to step #8, u hit the button 7 times. Took a few hours and a call to Audiovox to figure this one out.

I have installed about 5 APS 996 in the past 3 weeks.  The alarm is very picky when it comes to programming for some reason and their tech. support is awful.

Have you solved your problem?

Also, when you're programming the transmitters, what channel is the remote start automatically set to, channel 3 or channel 4?? Are there any other headaches that you guys had when installing these systems that I should know about before I start? (by the way, its going in a 93 Honda Accord)

as someone already posted, they are real picky when it comes to programming, ive installed alot of the 996's, 785's and 685's, they are good units and i like installing them, alot better than DEI pieces, the installs usually go in alot cleaner, however when it comes to programming, they can be a pain in the as# sometimes, but all in all it could be worse i guess.
