Hi Guys,   I bought a prostart ct-3300 for a 2001 dodge caravan with out OEM keyless entry (with power locks). My question is, how do I hook up the door locks? Do I buy the ProStart Door Lock Kit from Canadian Tire? Do I install two relays or can I hook up the two wires from the prostart direct to the single wire for the door locks?
Also, what is the doorpin for and do I need to hook it up?

Thanks in advance, Mike

This vehicle uses a 1-Wire Door Locking System requiring a (-)Negative thru a 5200 Ohm Resistor for LOCK, and a (-)Negative thru a 2000 Ohm Resistor for UNLOCK. You will need to instal to relays for the doors to work.. The door pin does not need to be connected in your application.

refer to this link for the wiring of the 2 relays.. in the pdf file you will notice three different examples.. use only the first one..

Thanks for the info. I live north of Toronto. Do you know where I can buy the relays and resistors? What values does the relays have to be?

you can pick up the relays at any Canadian Tire. Their part number is 34-0687-6. It is a DLXK-100 rleay kit.. there should be 2 relays and 2 sockets. You will need a 2000 ohm resistor for unlock and a 5200 ohm resistor for lock. Follow the first example on the pdf I sent you and you should have no problems.

The unit being a Prostart, I wouldn't bother with the relays.  Just use the resistor inline on the wire.  This has always worked for me on Prostart units.
