So I'm a little confused about the factory alarm/disarm procedure on the 2006 Hyundai Sonata. I read on some other site to set the brain box to double pulse unlock, then hook up the unlock AND disarm wire (off the brain box) to the "factory alarm disarm no unlock wire."

But if I'm understanding that correctly, this will work.. however, the user will have to push unlock everytime before they remote start it? Isn't there another way around it?

what alarm system are you using. Some alarms come with a wire that will say give a negative whenever the car is in remote start so if you need a negative you could use the same wire you will use for the bypass and if you need a positive just reverse the polarity using a relay..

The car disarms all by itself when remote started......... forget "factory disarm," as there is entirely no need for it.

Connect your lock output from the remote starter to the lock/arm wire on the car----the wire that tests as ground when you put the key in the exterior lock cylinder and turn it---that'll lock the car and arm the factory alarm.

Likewise, connect your unlock output to the unlock/disarm wire on the car, but set it to a double pulse. The first pulse from your RS will disarm the factory alarm, and the second pulse will unlock the doors.

TIP: The wires coming in from the door don't have much slack on them, and they seem nearly impossible to work with. But if you look closer, they're fastened to the car with a zip tie........cut that, and you'll get a little more slack.

I'm still not sure if I'm understanding this right. I've done a lot of remote starts but hardly any vehicles equipped with factory alarms.

From Chris' post, it sounds like I just wire everything up like normal, then just set the unlock to double pulse?

on the 06 sonota factory disarm is orange.........double pulsed....just take you unlock from ur alarm and send it to this wire.......but chris is right, about not really needing it........on hyundai the factory alarm. will disarm with the ignition, so as soon as you start the vehicle w/ remote start, it will also disarm
