That is the question! just wondering on what you installers use/prefer. Do you do with the tach mode or voltage sensing?

I usually go tachless, I have only had one that gave me a problem and had to hook up the tach. Although when I run the hood switch wire I usually bury the tach wire under the hood just in case.

For me it depends on the vehicle....A newer GM truck, where the truck takes over the cranking, I see no need to run a tach wire. Most vehicles get a tach connection, to ensure longevity but some just do not need it.

For reliability etc.. you can't beat a tach source. What's the extra few minutes to hook it up if it means a customer not coming back or having problems.

Meaning, Tach wire more effective compare voltage check rite? Coz my  car they not install the tach wire...

Do you think this make me facing this problem? Autostart fail to start my car...But my signal light blinking show like my car already start...I wait 3 minutes...The light still blinking...But autostart not try to strart again....Any idea why?

Here in NY I like to use a tach wire on every car. We do onsite installations and don't want to have to go back to turn up the cranktime.

In all the years I've been doing RS's, I've never had to use tach.  We use Directed and Omega (MARS) and I've never once had an issue using voltage sensing.
