I've read a few posts that suggest diode isolating the ground wire on the 457gw...to do this, which way should the anode be facing...towards the ground or towards the module?

Installing a Compustar 2W9000FMR-PRO on an 2005 Silverado with a 457gw module.

Do you mean the "ground while running" ?

The issues were with the Trailblazer and Envoy. It's safe to say you can install the 457G with no issues in a Silverado, don't worry about the diode...
