I'm looking for any helpful tips from the more experienced installers who have done these newer 06 Corollas. Any tips or time-savers would be helpful and most appreciated!
I believe the 06 does have a factory alarm. I've heard some say you need to pulse the keysense wire to disarm the alarm when RS, and others say just to dbl pulse the unlock wire. The latter is correct right ?
I'm installing a basic remote start/keyless unit (Ultrastart 1270tl), with a XK05 transponder bypass module. How involved is getting to the ECM behind the glove-box for the bypass wires. Any tips on that ?
Thanks In Advance

There is no alarm in any 06 Corolla, so don't bother with keysense. The security light on the dash is just for the immobilizer. The Directtech info for this car is wrong for door locks. If you use the green for unlock like they suggest it will engage the safety locks. Use blue/white for lock and blue / YELLOW for unlock in the drivers kickpanel. Unlock requires 2 pulses. If the car has factory keyless, the first pulse will unlock the drivers door only. If it doesn't have keyless, the first pulse will do nothing. On either the second pulse will unlock all. There are bizillion places to get tach, do a search here. Last week there was an entire thread on this car and the tach wire.... ------------- Mike M2

Thanks for the tips. How difficult is it to get to the ECM behind the glove-box, do I have to rip apart a million things to get to it?
The bypass I had selected was the XK-05, and needs to be interfaced to the ECM. It also notes you need to hook it up to the security light as well. Any easy source of hitting that wire, short of going straight to the light ?
I went searching for that thread you mentioned and still can't find it. Maybe Im just bad at searching, i search 05, 06, toyota corolla.
Thanks

Yah I found it . Thanks.
Soooo is accessing the ECM ridiculous or feasible for a RS install?

Getting to the ECM is real easy, just pull down the glove box and it's right there.
