So here's a quiz for everyone. Im lost. I installed a regular compustar 2w900fm-s in a 96 lexus ES300. Here is the problem. The headlights stay on after the car shuts off untill the door is open. Heres the deal, when the remote starter shuts off (If the timer times out and the starter automaticly shuts off, or if the customer shuts it off by remote) The headlights stay on period because the car doesnt sense the door trigger. Now the customer is afraid his wife will leave the lights on( because the car auto shuts off). So how can I pulse the door locks to shut the lights off after the remote starter shuts off without the driver in the car. It has to do it automaticly, but how can I pulse the door trigger with the door closed and without tripping the factory alarm?

Thanks

Jack

alright, heres the problem, I have installed a compustar 2w900fm-s. Everything works fine with it. heres the issue, the car automaticly shuts of the headlights if they are left on after the door is opened. THis being said, when the remote starter shuts down either by timing out or by being shut off by the remote, the headlights stay on becuase the door is not opened. Now without having to remeber to shut off the headlights( customer doesnt want his wife to have to) how do I pulse the door trigger to shut off the lights after the starter is shut down without setting off the factory alarm.

Thanks

Jack

5-wire relay method like type-c door locks.

use cn5 orange wire to pulse the drlk trigger. the wire will pulse right after shutdown.

Setting off the factory alarm or setting off the aftermarket alarm, which is your concern?

I've only installed one Compustar, but any modern alarm should be smart enough to ignore the door trigger at the time the remote start shuts down.

As far as the factory alarm, you've already had to disarm it before remote starting the car anyway, so that won't be an issue.

You should be able to put the Compustar's "rearm" output to the driver's-front doorpin wire on the car. Since it's an older car, it might be a high-current wire, and a relay might be required.

I usually just unscrew the driver's pinswitch, make a note of the color, and then go look for the same wire color in the kick panel.
