06 ford ranger, alarm

hey all

Im putting an alarm in my 06 ranger tommorrow.  I know i have negative switching.  My alarm has a (+) door pin switch wire, an a (-) door pin switch wire.

I am assuming i hook up the (-) door pin wire, but what wire(s) do I connect this two.

I am not quite sure what color wire to connect the parking light output to aswell (a friend of mine told me he thought it was brown)

What color is the negative door pin wire? I will diode isolate aswell ( I have a couple IN4004 which are 1 amp and rated at like 500 volts i think.I know overkill, but i already have these.

For parking lights: Does this mean i hook up to (brown) OR (white & black) or BOTH ( i guess pigtailing two wires off  the single alarm wire?)

You only hook up one.  There should be a jumper inside your alarm to select positive or negative.  Wire up which ever one is easier.

Parking lights i will use the brown. Now for the negative doorpin wire. I need to know what the colour, and where it is located. Can it be the passenger OR drivers doorpin.  Im kinda hung up on this one.

yellow/black (D), gray/red (P)

FORD, RANGER, 2006, Door Trigger The driver door trigger is yellow/black in the large black plug, pin 6. The passenger door(s) trigger is gray/red in the small black plug, pin 3. Use both wires and diode isolate each from each other and the control module. Refer to DirectFax document 1076 for wiring information. The SJB (Smart Junction Box) is the fuse/relay box in the passenger kick panel.

Hey all

I have an 05 ford ranger. My question is about the SJB's in fords.I understand that false triggers can be caused about 10 min after the unit goes to sleep. That is why the door triggers must be diode isolated.

I have heard that if using the dome supervision wire for the trigger it can cause false alarms due to they delay. My truck doesn't have dome delay. If I choose to use this wire, and throw a diode in circuit, will that eliminate any chance of false alarms?

Are valet switches a necessacity to have installed on a car alarm?

I don't want someone to be able to break in my car and shut the alarm off.

I would want one if your remote stops working no way to shut it off with out it. Just hide it good or on some alarms you can use a ghost switch. Alot of systems even let you determine how many times u have to press it to get the system to shutdown.

Ok I have a ford ranger with built in passive immobilize

is there any point in hooking up the starter interupter relay of my alarm if i already have the passive immobilzer.
